Walk around the mystifying circular formation of tall, standing stones. Experts still debate whether these were intended as an observatory of the moon, a temple to the sun, or an elaborate cemetery. The prehistoric stone circle and its surroundings having recently been restored back to its original, unaltered landscape.
Visit the mysterious village of Avebury which is ringed by the largest stone circle in the world! A small village with lesser-known Neolithic stone circles situated close to Stonehenge, enjoy a walking tour and then explore the village or have lunch at the famous Red Lion Pub (lunch is not included). You will also see Silbury Hill & West Kennet Long Barrow, other important mysterious Neolithic sites in the area.
