Enjoy a trip to the charming town of Windsor with admission to the majestic Windsor castle and luxury coach transfers from London!
Explore this beautifully historic town of Windsor on the banks of River Thames. Stroll through the quaint streets and soak in the serene ambience of the charming English countryside town.
Your tour includes a visit to Windsor Castle, the largest continuously occupied castle in the world. Windsor Castle is an Official Residence of Her Majesty the Queen and is said to be her favorite week-end retreat. With a history stretching back nearly 1000 years, the original fortified structure was built for William the Conqueror around the year 1080 as part of the defenses of London.
The castle gradually became a popular Royal residence because of the good hunting in the nearby forest. The Castle was improved and renovated over the centuries to create the magnificent building we see today. Highlights include: the State Apartments, St George's Chapel and Queen Mary's Dolls House.
Windsor Castle is, unfortunately, closed on these dates: April 9 & 10, May 5 and June 14 & 15
On the above days, you will be offered the tour as scheduled. However, since you will not be able to enter the Castle, you will be taken on a guided walking tour. Covering the turrets and the outer walls of the castle, the long walk (which is used for processions) and a great shot of one of the castle courtyards from the outer gates - this trail is as enjoyable as the one outside. You will also be able to see the quaint streets, learn how this town has played such an intrinsic part in UK history and see views of where the recent Royal Wedding Procession passed by. After the walking tour you will also have some free time to wander around this beautiful market town.
You will be picked up from the meeting point at the scheduled time. You will board a comfortable coach and set off for Windsor, which lies approximately 23 miles (37km) from central London.
