Activity Overview

Visit the 'Sistine Chapel of the UK' as you step inside the Old Royal Naval College and witness its stunning walls and ceiling.

The birthplace of Henry VIII, enjoy an interactive guided tour of the Painted Hall and learn about its unique history and depictions on the walls. With your Painted Hall ticket, you also get access to the fascinating Sackler Gallery, where you will hear intriguing stories about Sir James Thornhill and how he created the famous Hall. 

Play and interact with the replica artefacts on display - throw on King William's cloak, participate in a staring contest with the Medusa on Athena's shield and knight your friends with King Louis XIV's broken sword.
