Would have been useful to have received a map of the routes beforehand so we could see where the stops were. However, we went to the Dubai Mall to do some shopping and boarded a bus there once we had finished in the Mall. Very informative and good fun !
Planned our intinerary well in advance, the Big bus tour is excellent value for money and well-organised- we did the 48 hour ticket as you won't cover everything in 1 day. The dhow dinner cruise was excellent value- food and service great. We did'nt do a walking tour as it's far too hot but used the free ticket to visit the Dubai museum- not worth getting off bus for! I would also recommend the Yellow Boats trip around the Palm- we used the bus tour to get to the Marina and the trip was good value and great fun
Very well organised - buses leave on time. Would be better if they ran more frequently especially from Ferrari World. Also some of the headphone systems were not working.
The capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi is also the capital of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The city is situated on an island in the Persian Gulf and steadily gaining popularity as a tourist hotspot after Dubai. The economy of the city used to rely on the pearl trade prior to the oil industry. The city is aiming to be sustainable and self-sufficient by 2025 when it gets completed. The majority of energy consumption depends on solar panels and is already being hailed as the ‘City of the Future.’
While enjoying the sights of the city on a hop-on hop-off bus, the chances are that you might come across luxury cars of local police patrolling around or chasing high-speeders. If you are lucky, you might spot some Hollywood-esque chase in a Ferrari, Lamborghini or Rolls Royce. So, keep your eyes peeled for that!
Ab Dhabi also holds the bragging rights of the Formula One Grand Prix and the Yas Marina circuit is a must-visit. Ferrari World is another remarkable gem for automobile enthusiasts that should not be missed.
November to March is the best time to plan a visit to Abu Dhabi. The weather is cool and comfortable with the lowest levels of humidity. But days receive plenty of sunshine to indulge in sightseeing and other activities.
We recommend spending one to two days in Abu Dhabi. Taking a hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus tour will ensure that you cover the key attractions in a limited time.
That will depend on the tour provider. You’ll find that hop-on hop-off bus tours can be either live or audio-guided. Many will have a pre-recorded commentary that’ll share fascinating information about the history of Abu Dhabi, its culture, and many places of interest. You’ll find that the audio commentary will be provided in various languages. English, French, German and Spanish are the most commonly used, but others may be available. Check the specific product page for full details of all the languages offered.
Each tour is different, but in general, they will have a duration of between 1hr and 2hrs. Make sure to check the specific tour for timings.
Bus tours will run at different times of the day, especially if you have booked admission or skip-the-line tickets to the attractions. Make sure to check the tour details for full details on timings.
