Revisit the site of the Battle of Normandy (1944) and learn of the events of World War II. Visit the D-Day landing beaches, which was the site of the largest military operation in history.
Normandy has many memorials of World War II like the Pegasus Bridge, captured by British gliders from Nazi control. The D-Day landing beaches of Juno, Gold and Omaha once saw fierce fighting between the Allied Forces and Nazis in the historic Battle of Normandy and memorials are erected in honour of those who lost their lives.
The large number of graves in the American Military Cemetery stands testimony to the killings in the Second World War and has a pond and chapel for silent reflections. The ground is still pockmarked with bomb craters in certain regions and ruins of German fortifications and bunkers are not hard to find.
Take a trip to the D-Day landing beaches of Normandy and recount the events of World War II. Enjoy a guided tour of Juno and Omaha Beach and visit the American Cemetery of Colleville-sur-Mer.
There will be free time for lunch at Arromanches or Juno Beach.
